DESCRIPTION

Northside's rich history dates back over 10,000 years, originally inhabited by Native American groups such as the Gabrielino/Tongva, Cahuilla, Serrano, and Luiseño. Over time, Spanish, Mexican, and American settlers contributed to the area's cultural tapestry. This deep-rooted heritage is reflected in the neighborhood's architecture and community traditions, fostering a strong sense of pride among its multi-generational residents.

The neighborhood boasts a diverse array of housing options. Charming bungalow-style single-family homes from the 1930s, set on deep, rural-style lots, stand alongside medium-density suburban tract homes, condominiums, apartments, and gated residential communities. This architectural variety caters to a broad spectrum of preferences and lifestyles.

Northside offers a blend of residential, office, industrial, retail, and extensive recreational facilities. The neighborhood is home to parks and open spaces that provide residents with ample opportunities for outdoor activities. Recent initiatives, such as the Northside Specific Plan, aim to further enhance the area's amenities by introducing projects like the Riverside Adventure Center and a mixed-use town center, fostering economic development and community engagement.

Bounded by the Santa Ana River to the west, the 60 Freeway to the south, Interstate 215 to the east, and the Riverside City/San Bernardino County Line to the north, Northside offers convenient access to major transportation routes. This strategic location facilitates easy commutes to downtown Riverside and neighboring regions, enhancing the neighborhood's appeal for professionals and families alike.
