DESCRIPTION

Originally a mudflat known as Electric Island, Lido Isle underwent a transformative development in the early 20th century. In 1923, entrepreneur W.K. Parkinson purchased the island and envisioned creating a Mediterranean-inspired resort community. After extensive dredging and land elevation, the island was renamed Lido Isle, paying homage to the famed Lido di Venezia in Italy. This vision materialized into one of California's first master-planned communities, characterized by its European ambiance and meticulous design.

Lido Isle showcases a harmonious blend of architectural styles, predominantly featuring Mediterranean Revival designs. Homes adorned with stucco exteriors, red-tiled roofs, arched doorways, and wrought-iron accents evoke the timeless elegance of coastal European villas. Complementing this aesthetic, the island also boasts residences in Cape Cod and modern styles, offering a diverse architectural landscape that caters to varied tastes. ​

The island comprises approximately 800 homes, with about 250 enjoying direct waterfront access.
